I finally got my IV removed today ☺️

I still have lingering pain where the tubes were and I’m still going to the hospital for daily IV infusions. Other than that, I’m feeling great and breathing normally. I’m working from home as much as I can and I can’t wait until I can see my friends again!!! . . . . #holepic

I got to see my mom for the first time in months 🥰 I’m back home from the hospital now and still have lots of pain from the surgery but it’s getting better every day. The hospital couldn’t find a nurse to visit me at home so I have to go to the hospital every day for the next few weeks for an IV injection of antibiotics. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday this season and I can’t wait to see everyone after this covid crap is over!!

It’s my last night here (hopefully). All my chest tubes have been removed and all I have is the left over pain from the incisions. I will have a nurse visiting me at my home every day for 4 weeks to give me IV antibiotics. Treating myself with some Cold Stone ice cream 🥰

I got a beautiful floral arrangement from some beautiful friends 🥰 I’m out of the ICU now and in a normal room. They removed 1 of the 3 chest tubes so I have 2 left. I took my 1st 💩 today after the surgery. Everyone is still expecting me to stay here 7-10 days after the operation, so around Sunday/Wednesday I should be released. If my insurance allows it, I’ll have a nurse stop by daily at home to check on me.

I figured I’d post an update since I did not die in surgery lol. But things did not go as well as expected and the doctor had to cut me all open to remove the fluid/pus. One whole LITER of fluid came out of my chest. I went under anesthesia around noon on Sunday and did not wake up until Monday 8am. I had a ventilator down my throat, hands tied to the bed, catheter up in my pee hole, tubes running out of my chest, just having a typical bad time. Anyways now I’m managing the pain with drugs and still have the tubes in my chest. I’ll probably be here another week.

They’re about to take me downstairs and I can’t bring my phone, watch, or anything. I’ll be downstairs waiting for about 1.5 hours before they actually work on me and I expect the surgery to be 45 mins to an hour.

Here comes the anxiety. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow around 10:45am and then I’ll be in ICU for 4-5 days. If there’s complications, I will stay over a week. Nurse bring me a Xanax!!

Turns out my surgery is not as urgent as some other patients. Surgery date bumped to Sunday.

I’m in the hospital again. I knew my lungs would feel weird after I left here a month ago due to healing, but over the weekend I experienced a new pain in my lungs. I checked into the ER on Monday afternoon and I’ve been here ever since. I have surgery scheduled for tomorrow (or Friday). They’re gonna cut me between my ribs and drain the fluid from under my left lung. Then they’re gonna put a little robot inside that new void and scrape out all the remaining crap, and fuse the lung wall to the chest cavity. Then I will have a maple syrup tree tap tube sticking out of my ribs for a few days to catch any remaining crap. Good luck me!

Breakfast for the next 10 days—It’s some steroids, antibiotics, blood pressure meds, supplements, and an Aleve 🥴 one day at a time

I’m finally back home!!! The hospital discharged me last night and encouraged me to stay another night....hell nope! I got home, took a shower, and passed out at 8pm. I will be recovering the next few weeks to month. My lung capacity is still very limited while they heal so I get out of breath after small tasks like walking to the kitchen or taking the trash out. The biggest relief is there is no pain while breathing. :)

I’ve been hospitalized for about 4 days now... I feel like I’m not really improving or declining, just maintaining. What I know is I’m getting progressively more pissed off daily bc I could just get all these drugs prescribed to me and do this at home and be with my kitties. But now I’m sharing an “isolation” room with someone else and listening to him blast election news all day. And he pees all over the bathroom floor. I need out of here soon I am absolutely going insane. 😩

Just a lil update: I woke up today and had 90% less pain. I still have shortness of breath so they’re still monitoring me but progress is progress!

Oh yea, today is Halloween. Guess what I am! 🎃 ... . . . ....admitted at the hospital for Pneumonia. 👻 signs are looking good that it’s not covid related, but they will need to empty the fluid in my lungs somehow... anyways have a nice and safe spooky weekend everyone!
